" styling up vintage dresses for summer for the adventurous" Thank you for reading the first in a series of upcoming posts about styling and how to style up colourful and printed vintage dresses for summer for different eras. I love to style up vintage pieces in flamboyant ways and enjoy being different and adventurous with fashion. So this is my take on how to style up vintage dresses perfect for the summer depending on the heat! as here in the UK it is cold all through summer so fur is the perfect way to accessories dresses to keep warm but still say chic and true to that vintage style. I have put together four completely different outfits showing both colour and pattern of dresses from both 1950s and 60s! for the vintage lover in all off us. Hope you enjoy the post and get inspired on how to wear your vintage dresses this summer!

Outfit 1 - Leapard print wrap dress


I styled up this late 1970s does 1950s wrap dress with an over sized dynasty style wide brim hat with a contrasting leopard print head scarf underneath my hat to add added print and impact. I also added pearl earrings and layered pearl necklaces to add glamour to my leopard print dress. I also added this early 1930s fur fox stole to keep me warm which is a great alternative to adding a jacket!

Outfit 2 - 60s glamour!



This outfit is styled around this amazing early 1960s vintage maxi dress! with amazing floral pattern and the colours are perfect for summer. I then styled it up with cute girly pink accessories and added a cute bolero jacket for chillier days. I then added this amazing 1960s Malabo feathers lampshade hat for added cuteness and style.

Outfit 3 - cresta couture and feathers


This outfit was styled around this amazing 1950s cresta couture dress i picked up for only 2 pounds! i then realised i have the perfect feather hat for this dress and added contrasting snakeskin shoes. And added my cream mink cape i was given as a gift for if the day is cold but not cold enough to wear a suite or a coat.

Outfit 4 - 1940s styling



i put together this outfit from my 1980s does 1940s dress. and added this perfect matching stacked hat with viel and added a fur cape and lucite handbag for added glamour.
